Manning Company’s history begins over 60 years ago with one of the original Shanghai Red Gang tailoring houses, which relocated to Hong Kong after World War II. Our tradition is built on the twin foundations of British tailoring and centuries-old local craftsmanship.
Today, this heritage lives on inside the Manning Bespoke Tailors workshop in Hong Kong, where we continue to shape every bespoke garment by hand.
Our workshop bustles with 20 highly skilled cutters and makers with decades of experience at the bench. Each stage of the bespoke-making process, from pattern design to final pressing, is handled in-house with the level of care that comes from many years of practice.

MATERIALS, CRAFTSMANSHIP, AND DETAILS
We work with fabrics from the finest European weavers, including Scabal, Loro Piana, and Ermenegildo Zegna. Each garment is finished using the finest trims, including high-quality corozo nut and mother-of-pearl buttons and Cupro Bemberg linings. All cutting, sewing, and shaping is carried out by hand in our Hong Kong workshop by our skilled craftsmen.

The making of a bespoke suit or jacket follows the Savile Row tradition from which Hong Kong style derives.
The first appointment begins with the selection of the fabric from our extensive library of swatch books. You will be able to choose cloth from prestigious European mills, as well as fine trims to complement it, under the guidance of our expert team.
We then take the client's measurements in person, draft an individual paper pattern, and cut the cloth by hand. This stage showcases the tailor's mastery of the craft.
We continue with a second and, if needed, third fitting, as the bespoke garment is gradually refined by hand until it fits perfectly. If further work is required, we continue the process until the client is fully satisfied. This commitment to service is central to our work.
BESPOKE SUIT
A bespoke suit from Manning Company is handcrafted in Hong Kong using time-honored British and Shanghai tailoring traditions. Each garment is individually patterned, cut, and fitted by skilled artisans, using fine European fabrics and full canvas construction. The result is a precise, elegant fit and a suit made entirely for you, refined through multiple fittings and finished with meticulous attention to detail.

Manning Bespoke Company also offers bespoke clothing for women, as it has since the inception of one of the houses now part of the Manning Company. The oldest tailoring house represented at Manning Company is Mode Elegante, specializing in bespoke clothing for women, founded in Hong Kong in the 1950s by one of the original Shanghai Red Gang tailors. Mode Elegante, or elegant fashion, continues to define the spirit of our multigenerational tailoring house.
